Project: "Highly Scalable Distributed NoSQL Database for Real-Time Critical IoT Applications"

Atende Industries is implementing a project co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development with funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (No. KPOD.05.10-IW.10-0001/24). The project is carried out under the auspices of the European Commission as part of the IPCEI-CIS program, which aims to support key technological solutions of significant importance to all EU Member States.

Value of the project: 23 644 696,66 PLN
Value of EU funding: 18 442 862,02 PLN

The awarded funds will be used for the development and advancement of a range of technologies aimed at creating a unique, reliable, secure, and highly scalable distributed data storage system, unparalleled in Europe, to be offered to clients in a cloud service model.

TStorage is a technologically advanced project implemented as part of a European initiative. IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest), której celem jest wspieranie innowacyjnych i strategicznych przedsięwzięć o znaczeniu ponadnarodowym.

Project objective

The primary objective of the project is to develop a unique, reliable, secure, and highly scalable distributed data storage system—unparalleled in Europe—that will be delivered to technology users in the form of a cloud-based service. To achieve this goal, the current version of the TStorage database—characterized by several technological limitations and installed on-site at the client’s premises—will be further developed through a series of planned research and development activities and tests, as detailed in the project proposal. The new database system, created within the framework of the project, is expected to have broad industrial applicability, which will be demonstrated through the initial industrial deployments that are part of the project scope.

The TStorage project aligns with the objectives of the IPCEI in the area of developing sovereign and innovative digital solutions in Europe, contributing to the advancement of technological independence and the competitiveness of the European data market.

TStorage complies with EU data sovereignty standards, ensuring adherence to legal regulations, privacy safeguards, and full operational transparency.

The database serves as a foundation for industrial and research applications—thanks to data versioning and the rapid analysis of sensor data. TStorage is becoming a key element of the infrastructure, enabling intelligent real-time decision-making.

Spillover

The TStorage project plays an important role in the development of European data spaces. Atende Industries aims for its outcomes to have a lasting impact beyond the scope of the IPCEI initiative. To this end, the company actively shares its experience and expertise—by organizing and participating in conferences, conducting workshops, and publishing expert materials.

As part of the project implementation, we are developing collaborations with scientific institutions such as the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IBB PAN), and the Warsaw University of Technology. These institutions support research and development activities, share expert knowledge, and participate in the testing and validation of the developed solutions. Joint efforts include, among others:

  • the exchange of experience and best practices in the field of data storage and management,
  • the development of technological prototypes,
  • the organization of workshops and expert consultations,
  • the organization of workshops and expert consultations,

Thanks to the involvement of our partners, it is possible to align the project outcomes with the actual needs of technology users and to increase the product’s market potential.

International collaboration

The TStorage project is part of the integrated IPCEI CIS initiative (ultimately named 8RA). www.8ra.com). To inicjatywa realizowana we współpracy państw członkowskich Unii Europejskiej, sektora przemysłowego oraz środowisk naukowych, której celem jest stworzenie wspólnej przestrzeni usług cloud-edge – otwartego, interoperacyjnego i ogólnodostępnego europejskiego ekosystemu przetwarzania danych.

Our direct partners include, among others, Engineering Ingegneria Informatica S.p.A. from Italy and OpenNebula from Spain. Collaborating partners include Phoenix Systems from Poland and N+P from Germany. All partners are actively involved in the industrial deployment phase of the project.
